Students in the Century Jr. High EarlyAct club made 14 blankets for Project Linus. The mission of Project Linus is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans created by volunteer "blanketeers." The EarlyAct club is a service-oriented partnership between the school and the Orland Park Rotary Club. Student Kristina Linko notes, "I joined EarlyAct because I love to help the community and it's a lot of fun. With the blanket project, we were able to help kids and learn how to make blankets. It is a great thing to do."
